About the Blog

I'm a plain old mom. Nothing fancy. And I love food. I really do. But it's a tricky chore to feed a family. I love to cook (most of the time) and I love my picky little munchkins (pretty much all the time). So what should I make for dinner? Scenario 1 is that I go for a meal everyone will eat and we end up with cold cereal and peanut butter sandwiches for every meal. Scenario 2 is that I whip up some delicious looking meals that have 42 ingredients each, cost a small fortune and take all day to put together that there's no chance of my kids touching anyway, so they end up eating cereal or peanut butter sandwiches. Hmmm.... dilemma. We all have our staple meal or two that's our go-to when we need something quick and relatively healthy that everyone will eat (because nobody has the time or energy for 42 ingredients). Well my goal is to expand that list for you (and also share some food for thought along the way)! You know that happy medium of meals that are savory and delicious that are also family friendly? ...Meals that are full of flavor and made with ingredients you've heard of and don't take all day to prepare? Hopefully, that's where these recipes will come in.  I'm no expert - in fact, I'm far from it! - but if we all share a little bit of know-how here and there, maybe we can figure this thing out!  I love to cook - but I'm a busy mom and need recipes that are practical. There's a way to do practical AND gourmet. I promise!
