A couple posts ago I mentioned how our family grateful board usually sits at the center of our kitchen table. Well, here it is! I picked up a two-sided chalkboard from Michael's and used a 40% coupon so I think it cost about $4. Then I sit a small bowl with a few pieces of chalk in it beneath it and anyone can at any time write what they're grateful for on the chalkboard. It's a good way we've found to try and focus on what we HAVE instead of what we DON'T. My 6-year-old daughter and I came up with the idea last Thanksgiving when she was having a cranky day and we were brainstorming ways to celebrate THANKSgiving instead of CRANKSgiving. :)
Sometimes I also draw fun characters or other surprises for my kids and they've really liked that.
It's worked great for us!! What works for your family?
